Parc Güell...
... another creation from Antoni Gaudi. In 1900 Count Eusebi Güell bought a tree-covered hillside and hired Gaudi to create a garden city with houses for the wealthy. In 1914 they had to realize, that the project was a commercial flop and abandoned it. In 1922 the city bought the parc and opened it for the public.
... in 1984 it was also considered a World Heritage Monument by the UNESCO.

The best way to get there: take the metro L3 up to "Vallcarca", and simply follow the signs to the Parc Güell. This way you can take the escalator uphill to almost the top of the parc.
